"The
virtue of the camera is not the power it has to transform the photographer
into an artist, but the impulse it gives him to keep on looking." -
Brooks Atkins
I think that this quote sums up my feelings about the craft of
photography. I can’t drive
down a road or walk through a field or see a beautiful flower or a
beautiful woman without composing a photograph in my mind.
The camera has allowed me to find beautiful images within scenes
that might be perceived as drab or uninteresting.
Many times the final images do not come out as I plan them –
sometimes they turn out better than I could have imagined, sometimes they
are a disappointment. But
regardless of the quality of the images that I produce, the camera has
taught me to
stop and appreciate the beauty around me.
And along the way, hopefully I have presented some images that have
allowed others to see beauty through my eyes.
